I was debating sharing a tip on how to cut a cantaloupe but I figured someone else had probably shared it with pictures and I would save time by finding it and linking to it. The person who made the video I found shares two ways to cut cantaloupe and I do it the second way except that I use a large spoon to scrap out the seeds as it is faster and leaves a more attractive center. If you try it a few times you'll get really fast at it. I have worked for 2 different caterers and have cut what seems like a thousand cantaloupes and I love how well the fruit looks when it is done this way. With picnic and barbecue season here we try to take advantage any sales on fruit we can to serve along side all those grilled meats, beans, and salads.

Thank you!!!
I just came home with my 1st canteloupe of the summer and wondering the best way to cut it for a luncheon.
Great tip! Thanks. My husband doesn't like the rind, so this will be great for us.
You rock!
I never know quite what to do with it and cut it differently every single time.
:)
Very helpful! From restaurant work I knew to peel oranges that way but never tried it on melons, now I can't wait to try.
Just remember to ALWAYS wash and scrub canteloupes before cutting them. Due to their skins they harbor and hold dirt and bacteria more then any other melon.
